Job Title: Admissions Graduate Assistant

Reports To: Admissions Events Coordinator

FLSA Classification: Exempt

 GENERAL SUMMARY:

The AGA will assist the Office Manager/Campus Events Coordinator with daily office tasks, help with the recruitment of prospective students, all while providing excellent customer service to all of our internal and external constituents.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

50% Office operations

20% Assist with special events and campus tours

10% Assist in connecting with prospective students

10% Data entry

10% Other duties as assigned.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Acceptance into a Graduate program at Central Methodist University

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to occasionally life up to 50 lbs.

Dexterity to operate general office equipment with reasonable accommodations

Ability to speak in a clear and loud voice.

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Above average written and oral communication skills

 OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

Due to events travel, applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record to qualify to operate a vehicle within the CMU guidelines. 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To locate, identify, and recruit prospective students and their families for the purpose of enrollment.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

60%        Office Operation/Outreach and Recruitment

  • Assist with the Campus Visit Program, including working in EMP & CARS to update needed information, sending meeting invites, monitoring responses and maintaining the Excel worksheet
  • Answer to handle/reroute incoming phone calls and walk in inquiries
  • Utilize email, phone calls, text messages, social media, and other communication methods to connect with prospective students and their families
  • Embrace all recruitment programs devoted to organizing and holding student data for the purposes of interdepartmental communication and strategic recruitment

 25%        Special Events

  • Assist with on campus event planning, prep, and day of event activities

15%        Other Duties as assigned by Supervisor

  • Assist with duties assigned by Enrollment Management VP

100% - Display a professional attitude and presence in all aspects of the job.

 MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Office Manager/Campus Event Coordinator

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements for the position:

  • Must have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years previous experience as an admissions representative.
  • Experience supervising students and/or office workers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift and carry the needed material for a college fair, usually 20 – 30 lbs.
  • Be able to stand for 1 to 2 hours while at a college fair

 OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience working in virtual platforms, social media platforms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and be skilled in managing basic office tasks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A minimum of 2-5 years in college/university admissions
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Preferred (not required) Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience;
  • Required Certifications or Licensures

 OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

This position will require some weekend, evening, and travel commitments.
